Hey guys,

I've seen some conflicting information such as primeing the lifter will cause valves to possibly bend, etc. I noticed that the lifter come with some sort of oil in them, should I bleed them and prime with my mobile 1 or just bleed them and install? Else a different approach? I figured if they are bleed once the engine starts pumping it should prime them up, right?

Thanks in advanced!

There is a good write up in the vfaq. But to answer you question quick.

1. Remove all oil from the new lifter.

2. Submerge the lifter in oil, depress the paperclip, and pump the lifter to fill it with oil.

3. Remove the lifter, turn it upside down, depress the paperclip, and pump the lifter until no more oil comes out. This will leave a thin film of oil for startup.

Jack you need to stick a paperclip in them and press down on them to remove the pressure. There are 2 passage ways for the clip to go into to releive the pressure. Dont soak them in oil blead them down and install. Reason guys bend valves is they dont blead them down causing the valves to be open when they are not suposto.

I agree, you have to bleed the lifters. I had to do this on my own vehicle after replacing the head.
