Hello,
My 99 GST tends to have this rather loud knock/ticking noise from the head when I start the engine when it's cold. It usually clears up all by itself within 2-3 minutes of the car being on. Once it does it sounds good and I can rev he car, etc with the noise not coming back at all.
Think it might be the lifters? Don't 99's come with the 3G lifters? If so do they maybe just need to be cleaned? I normally change the oil every 3k miles with 10w30 Mobile 1.
