So, last night around 8 i get on the interstate and i do a 3rd gear pull and it was all fine. went the speed limit all the way to the offramp, still all good. Then i go down the road about a mile and get to Walmart and i roll down my window to talk to my bro and i hear knocking, but my safc wasnt picking up any knock, and my sensor is working. It's really really loud, car hasn't lost any performance and still drive smooth and normal, minus the loud noise. i have oil in the motor, it was full, and changed about 300 miles ago.

Could this be my oil pump? This is bad considering its my daily driver. Help would be nice.

Also, when i start driving, the knocking is almost gone from 1k-2.5k and then it starts getting noticable, fast. i will get a video later.

Whoa sounds like piston slap. Is it there all the time after it warms up?

I've seen 2 cars with spun rodbearings, and they both sqeaked as well as knocked. x3 on checking the crank pully.

drain the oil and check it for metal shavings if nothing else.

well, got the good news.

my 2200 dollar buschur block is toast! severe bearing faliure on cyl 4 rod! my oil looks like a little kid mixed glitter into it. oh yeah, did i mention that my cylinder 1 piston rings are bye bye? its pathetic that all of this happened in a day, and i didnt even see it coming. my leakdown was awesome and soo was my compression 2 weeks ago!

bad news

im going to be broke for a while again.

Wow if you blew up some rings you were detonating the shit out of that motor. That sucks nonetheless

LOL No one deserves a blown engine. But, you should have taken the proper precautions to fix the detonation if you knew it was there.

Have any carnage pictures?

yeah well this is a good oppritunity, plus its time for hibernation anyways. i will have karnage pictures tomorrow or tuesday. but the next performance thing im buying is aem uego and dsmlink.

Dam that sucks.... Are you just gonna buy complete bottom end ready to go, or are you gonna rebuild that one with the spun bearing?

im a mechanic, soo i have the recsorces and knoledge to rebuild the bottom end myself, but i will have another shop do my honing, boring, decking, etc jobs.

The UEGO is the best thing I have bought for my ride. If you're not scared of hex code I would suggest skipping DSMlink and start programming and burning chips yourself. It's cheap and not too hard to do.

yeah, i need some type of wideband for this car as soon as possible so i can acually dial in my fuel.

im more or less done with chipping and socketing ecu's. i want to acually just go the extra few hundred and go dsmlink.
