7 bolt oil pump on 6 bolt

I recently purchased a block from a guy who says it's a 6 bolt block. it had a 6 bolt crank in it, but the front crank shaft seal/oil pump looks to be off of a 1g seven bolt. The block had spun a bearing and I was wondering if that might have had something to do with it, being the incorrect oil pump/front crank shaft seal. I'm stroking it so I don't need the crank, but I want to put the right pump on it so I don't have any problems. Also, is there anyway to tell if the block itself was originally a 6 or 7 bolt?

There are several ways, but off the top of my head I would just check the bottom side of the block to see if it is a 7 bolt or a 6 bolt. The mating surfaces for the oil pan should be perfectly straight across if it is a 6 bolt and a 7 bolt has a big dip on one side (it is not completely flat). Once you determine what you have, stick with the same accessories for that year.

I am pretty sure it's a 6 bolt, because the oil pump gaskets for a 94 seven bolt or 96 model don't line up at all. The gasket for the 90 model eclipse fits but it just doesn't have the guide holes in the gasket. I just want to make sure it's actually a 6 bolt block and has 12 mm head bolts so I'll know exactly what I have and it'll better help me stroke it
