whats everyones opinion on the best rod and main bearings for the 4g63t. im shooting for 500hp + daily driver. i had a minor mishap today in which one of my rod bearings let go and pretty much chewed its self apart. not sure of the condition of the crank yet just changed the oil and i hade some really chunky glitter going on in my oil. well any info is apprciated

i was looking at those and all the old school racers that come in my work are saying use the clevite. but this is new era engine building and a little more high tech then most of these guys are use to.

anyone else have any input

If you want bearings with the longest duration go after aluminum. For racing bearings I would go with lead/copper for durability. Because lead is considered a pollutant now, some companies (and car manufacturers) stick with aluminum.

Clevite was the watermark in the old days but I believe thay no longer focus on the high performance product as much as they used to.

Most bearings come from the same factory. there are only about 3 places in the world that make bearings. King = Topline Engine pro = ACL (note the Race series are ACL specific) ECT. I wouldnt read into it too much. most of them come from Turkey or Austrailia.

Either acl race(tri-metals) or oem bearing. Clevite doesn't make tri-metal bearing any more.
