well for those of you that remember my problem about a month ago with my mechanic well i got another one.
I got the car back from the shop and On the way home my alternator took a shit. so i exchange my alt for a new one, get it all put on and the car wont run, it wasnt getting any oil pressure. So I called him up and he came to pick up the car. He said he could hear something on the side by the timing belt cover. Well he said he found what looked like a socket jammed up under something by the oil pump. it bent something and thats why it wasnt getting any oil pressure. (i didnt understand what the hell he was talking about, i didnt know the oil pump was driven from a pulley on the outside) So i checked all my tools and im not missing one tool. I check all my friends tools that was helping me but we only used his wrenches so He had to of left a socket or something down there and messed up. Long story but Its been pissing me off. he keeps telling me the car will be done but then oh the part hasnt came in yet?????? hes had the car for over a month now since he took it back.

The timing belt drives the oil pump, and is on the outside of the motor. It looks like a little gear with straight cut teath . Someone could have droped somthing down in threw the timing belt cover (top) while it was being asembled?
No oil pressure for any reason at any time is not good at all. You see no oil pressure when on a full pass your in trouble. By the time you notice it its to late the damage is already done to the bearings, cam lobes etc.
I would go down there with him not knowing your coming and see what the motor looks like. Im sure he has the motor apart if he has had it for that long. I would ensist on having the bearings checked for piece of mind ( they should look brand new) and a new front cover (oil pump installed). Get all the bearing clearances from him and get back to us.
Sounds like theres somthing missing here.

The oil pump is driven by the timing belt on the rear side of the engine, just on the back side of the crank pulley. Something could have very well got jammed up in there. Also, I don't know if you did a 6 bolt swap or not, but if you did, your oil pressure light will come on sometimes anyway just because the connectors are not compatible.

yeah thats what he did is a 6 bolt swap. the place is about an hour away, and with fourth of july I doubt he is open. the motor ran 100% fine on the way home until the alternator went out. and then once I put the new one on it ran like shit, however I didnt have it running very long, just a couple of seconds because I could tell something wasnt right.
Im waiting to hear more word from him. once I know more Ill let you guys know first.
thanks
