Hey, What would cause the B belt to skip a tooth or 2. I have done the t belt and b belt with all the pullies and W/P. The car was OK for 2 weeks then just last light after doing some 3rd gear pulls(2000-7000) I have noticed that around 2300-3000 rpm the engine is a little shakey. Also at idle its pretty smooth but not as it should be. The vibration can be felt a little in the cabin. The engine runs fine and the car accelerates ok just seems off balance a little. ??? Its a 98 AWD talon mostly stock (BOV,UIP, 10psi) stock turbo. please advise..I have yet to determine if it is the b belt but it sound like it???

Help please, I have checked everything I could short of pulling the engine out. Could a bad flywheel cause this?

You most likely have the balance shafts out of phase. How did you verify that they are lined up correctly?

I just re-read your post and noticed that you said it started just last night, so that most likely rules out the balance shafts being out of phase. Does it vibrate if the car is parked and you just rev the engine, or does it do it when the car is moving, or both?

I would start with the easy stuff. Check the crank pulley, the bolts do come loose, and sometimes the pulley itself will come apart. Check the motor mounts as well, they are usually broken or at least cracked on most 1g cars. If those are ok it might be time to pull the tranny and check the flywheel and clutch assembly.

I just double checked the bal belt again visually and I did the screwdriver method and its OK. The pullies are also OK, bolts are tight. I guess I have to pull the tranny out..thanks for your input..
