Ok, to start off.

I have a 97 gsx, and i bought it with what appeared to be no mods. However, the more ive learned about these cars, the more confused i got.

My 97 gsx has no CAS. Theres nothing there. (where there is normally the 97-99 cas)

Will installing 1g (91 or 92) cams be possible, and will they show a positive gain?

Also, is the "big factory cam" mod a good idea? (using 1g intake cam in place of my 2g exhaust cam?)

I have two sets of 91 cams and am trying to find a nice upgrade on my 2g, but now that i have no CAS im wondering what will be the difficulties in doing cams?

The 95-96 motor has a different CAS Setup then the 90-94 and 97-99. You will see the crank angle sensor near the crank and the cam angle sensor underneath the intake cam gear. If your car had no CAS it wouldn't start so you just were not familiar with where to find it on your car, that is all.

I am using a 1G cas in place of mine on my 95.

Don't waste your time installing 1g cams.

Thank you, that pretty much answered my question. I know the car has a CAS i just meant that it was not where the 97-99 normally is. :D
