OK here it is I just rebuilt my motor because the valves slapped into the pistons breaking them and leaving big divots in the piston. So I get a used head rebuild it with forged valves "drop in fit" have it resurfaced and cleaned along with a set of hks 272 cams.I also bought some replacement pistons from itm for my 6 bolt and i have them pressed on at the shop with a set of arp rod bolts. The rings were also put on at the shop. Me being the dumbass that i am start putting the pistons into the cylinder well it was the first one and i forgot to slap the top of the ring compressor and one of the oil rings must have popped out and lightly scrathed the cylinder. I rehone the cylinder and replace the oil ring but the scratch is still there. It doesn't seem like it is going to be a big deal it looks worse them it is but i need some advice because I'm doing this rebuild with the block still in the car. Should i send out the block or will it be OK. "Its a very light scratch" Thanks Joe.

Can you catch your fingernail on the scratch? The Best thing of course would be to have the scratch taken out at the machine shop. If the scratch is not too deep you should be able to get away with it. You May have a small amount of oil burn.

Ya you can catch it with your nail just lightly I didn't think it would make awhole lot of difference being that it might smooth out during the breakin period.
