I am looking to use one of these with a thermostatic sandwich adapter so I can use a air to oil cooler. I have seen many post talking about them but not posts say anything about clearance on the H frame. I have a 90 oil filter housing already, I want to move the filter away from the down pipe. I do not want to use a oil filter relocation kit, just personal preference.

Okay I have searched and searched and I have seen MANY different answers to this.

I have a 90 6-bolt motor, what car used the filter housing that points the filter to the front. With the t3/t4 and 3" downpipe I DO NOT have room to even loosen the filter and it is too close for my comfort.

If you have a part # that would be even better but just the vehicle application will work too.

Couldn't you also order a filter relocation kit from jegs or summit? Maybe a dual filter kit just for kicks... Just an idea:D

thats a good Idea I may do that if there isn't one made for 7 bolts . I cant even get my filter off with my 3'' o2 housing

I was curious if anyone has ever installed a forward facing oil housing before. I know to swith the idiot sensors and stuff but what about the water line that goes to it what do i do about that, this is the one i bought.

I have the one with the optional T fitting

You are reffering to the internal water to oil cooler on your stock oil sending unit. You will have to eliminate the water to oil cooling aspect of your car's oiling system since that sending unit cannot support an external oil cooler or internal system. You can, however, fabricate an external system if you have those capabilities.

Well, if you block it off then you have absolutely no oil cooling on your turbo charged engine. It is a better idea to fab up a way for your engine to have an oil cooler.

Throw the Water to Oil Cooler away & blank the Coolant Lines - from those pix it's not gonna fit on the Oil Filter Bolt anyway - & yes get an Air Cooled Oil Filter.

Hey guys, can any of you confirm the part # is MD122260? Someone said they thought this was it. Thanks a lot.

Hey guys. I was considering getting a forward facing oil filter housing for my new 6 bolt swap. I'll be using a sandwich adapter in between the housing and oil filter and I don't want to worry about downpipe clearance. Only thing is I hear how you can't do external cooling with them?! Is this true or is there any way to accomplish it? Here's a pic if anyone can take a minute with it and MS paint and possibly illustrate it for me and anyone else out there. Thanks.

You would need a total of three connections. I can't tell from your picture to well but this is an example of mine. One connection is for your oil pressure sensor and the other 2 are for out and in to the external oil cooler. I hope that helps.

Thanks I appreciate it, but my question is regarding a forward facing oil filter housing. ALTHOUGH, are the two fittings for the oil cooler using existing threads or did you add the threads? Sorry, I'm new to the 6 bolt and not very familiar to the 6 bolt filter housing.

I have AN fittings (not the one's pictured) and they just screwed in. I didn't do the install but I remember my mechanic told me he just used replaced those fittings with AN and hooked it up without a problem.
