I finally got around to making a cold-air intake for my car, so now that's it's done and on the car, I just thought I'd share what I did. Basically everything is made out of 4" aluminum mandrel bends with wide 6" radius. I had to enlarge the hole where the original intercooler piping used to go through to about 5" and everything fit like a glove. Besides the fact that the car sounds like a vacuum cleaner under boost, I am excited that I now have lower intake temps, since the turbo does not suck air from right underneath the red-hot exhaust header and hopefully that would help my in my never-ending quest for a 9-second timeslip.

Here are some pics:

Yours looks very nice. I like it a lot. The only thing that I might do for mine is get another 90 degree mandrel bend and get the filter where the stock fog light used to be. Of course I will have to get a different filter that can suck from the front as well as the sides. I am thinking of attaching it with a silicone coupler and host clamps.

K&N has some universal filters that have 45* bends in them, I dk if you could utilize that topoint it more toward the fog light area without having to have such a dramating 90 right away, idk if that would help any or not.

I'm curious whether that air filter is big enough? If you have the space, you might consider something larger.

Thanks! Yeah I angled mine towards the fog light opening, you can see it better in these pics:

Not trying to thread jack, just showing you how I did mine. The filter I used is an 8" long K&N with a 3" opening. The only bad thing is that it isn't open in the front like you were saying.
