i need help asap im at my mechanics house looking at my car it will turn over and occasionally fire and idle for about 2 seconds but there is exhaust smoke coming out of the inlet and outlet of the turbo please respond asap to some test we can run thank you david also u may give me a call at 330 212 6107

I have replaced several stock turbos with 16Gs and the first sign of turbo failure was excessive smoke. This happens when oil passes into the exhaust housing. In the beginning it was only under boost. The really bad turbos smoked under normal driving conditions and at idle but the vehicles never had a problem staying running. Take the intake of the turbo and wiggle the blades up and down or side to side. Also pull the blades in and out, if there is excessive play the turbo is bad.
