Turbo for 400whp

What would be a good turbo for a 400-450 whp goal with the 7-bolt and supporting mods (no internal stuff), fuel pump injectors ect. ect. ect. I was thinking 20g, but what do you think?

I just picked up a 50 trim from Slowboy....that should get you around where you want to be. But don't get me wrong...it can be done with a 20G as well.
 
I would recommend the PTE 50 trim. It bolts on and works really well. PM or email for pricing as we won't be beat.
 
You're not going to get 400WHP at the rate you're going, asking newbie questions like this, and "WHAT INTERCOOLER SHOULD I GET?"

I seriously suggest you start reviewing past threads.

It is very possible ... the 20g is capable of that and the 20g has run 10s ...

I too suggest a 50-trim, yet you probably wont make your 400-450whp till you get a couple years of tuning experience or you hire someone to tune for you.

I doubt you will make the HP you seek while on a stock 7-bolt bottom end, if you don't take the necessary precautions you will probably blow you engine. That is if crankwalk doesn't get you first... ;)

We've had a few guys with RS49s dyno over 400whp on pump gas.

A pte or full Garrett 50 trim. With the propper supporting mods can easily get you in the 400hp/400whp range. For the price a PTE or full Garrett setup cant be beat.

I would suggest a PTE from Forced performance or AGP. Those guys seem to shelf the PTE turbos and can ship quickly. Check with them both for availability. You can be sure of one thing, AGP and FP customer service and shipping times "Wont be beat" If your looking for a Full Garrett setup I would suggest the AGP kit. those things are nasty;)

I think it's hilarious that jdmawd jumps on the vendors nuts for recommending a certain turbo; granted he could have done it better.

But then he turns around and recommends the same damn turbo. I understand not letting vendors say "buy my stuff" but don't you think it's kind of **** to put their experienced hands behind their backs and tell them to shut it? I felt 10x better having AGP show dyno's and say "Our T3/T4 kit kicks ass" than hearing the bickering 50+ posts from people about it on top of certain individuals who were stuck on "certain turbos being the best!," has them fall apart, and then wonders why we don't take them seriously. *wonders if anyone will catch that last part*


Back on topic; there are literally 10+ turboes that come off the top of my head that will work on our cars. You should narrow the question down to "race gas/pump gas; unbuilt/built engine; nitrous/non nitrous; etc."

I mean I could tell you to go get a .76 A/R T-4 and it could get you there and give you 450P at 5500RPMS like a Supra boy. But I'd also be leaving out a lot of the fine print (increased displacement would be needed or nitrous to spool):p

I went with AGP's full bolt on T3/T4 kit and you can do the same with RNRs. About the only thing that will need replacing are the fans depending on how your LICP goes.

Yeah that does suck, I would hate to own a crap turbo. God bless Forced performance and AGP. Seems like they have this turbo thing figured out:thumb:
