Will my 7 bolt be ok running the big 16g at full power (with the supporting mods of course), be ok with out upgrading any of my internals which will be right around 400 horses? And would a Supra side mount be ok for this situation if not tell me and how much and where can i buy a supra side mount?

Thanks

Hey, just because you have a seven bolt doesent mean its a bad motor, but when you're talking about supporting mods thats when it gets interesting. To fully max out a big or evo 16g turbo you must first address fueling,a walbro 225 fuel pump would be the bare minimum.
When considering an intercooler upgrade a supra side mount would be ok, but to support 400 horse and I presume you mean at the wheels you will need a bit more than a side mount. Their are great small front mounts out in the market for reasonable prices like 12/10/2.5 for roughly the same amount as the side mount, maybe even a tade more.Keep in mind that when ever you upgrade one thing you need to change five other things ;-) happy moding.

400 hp? who are you kidding? you wont get that much.

16g on a 7bolt is beyond fine. supra sidemount would be wise. a 255 would be over kill. a 190 would be perfect.

revolution - you have been quite incorrect.

400hp with big16g stock internals? nope.. prob 300~ish

get urself a 50 trim.. it seems to be becoming the standard of dsm turbo upgrades..

those with big16gs are now gettin that turbo..

i myself cant wait to upgrade out of this b16g..

Yeah a 16G is a pretty small turbo. Yeah a few guys have gone raelly fast on it etc etc, but they are maxing out every other aspect of their car. If those very people went to a larger turbo they would go way faster. That would be like me putting a 16G on Sheps car, he would probablly break the 16G record, but be way slower than he runs normally, so what?

If you really want to try a 16G then buy a used one or something because you won't be happy with it's performance for long and will be wanting something more. I jumped directly to a 50trim and am acctually wondering why I didn't goto a 60-1 or something.

DSMJim said it well also. I only see the 16G ( or T28 ) as a stepping stone to a larger turbo. With the T25, the 2G owner is forced to take more steps in the turbo upgrade process ( unless you are building everything from the ground up, this is more to daily drivers ) than a 1G owner would. The stock 14b on 1Gs is an ugprade for 2G owners over the T25.

Buy a small 16G, and when you get ready to swap it out, sell it used to someone who is starting their modding.

Now if I could only get rid of that T25, hmmmmmm.

So what size turbo should I go with to get the 400 whp that I want, and the supra side mount should be all right but how much am I going to pay for it. One last thing im double checking that my 7 bolt should hold the power and how much more will it hold I know its hard to tell but through out a number for me.

Thanks

That is what I did. I bought a small 16G and then upgraded to an Evo 16G and went from 112mph with the small 16G in the 1/4 to 118mph in the 1/4 with the Evo 16G. :)

I haven't dynoed my car yet, but it is probably close to 400hp.

you want 400whp, you need somthing alot bigger than a 16g, and no way 400whp on a supra sidemount. sorry a fmic will be needed as well as every upgrade you can think of without going internals.

I had the supra sidemount on my car and could only managage 272awhp and a pathetic et of a 13.0@100mph Get somthing larger than a 16g if you have the money for suporting mods. If not a 16g is a great turbo and is capable of runing 12's on pump pretty easy. But fuel and tuning will be the main concern
