Supercharger a.k.a. "Blower"

This isn't really an advanced performance question though...

could also mean that the engine was blown, as in destroyed from running to hard or something like that. when an engine is blown you gotta rebuild it or get a new one.

exactly,we have hole forum for noobs and since Im nob and I do not know about "BLOWN" engines ,I figured out that if i post this Q there where all the nobs like me hang, they would not know about "BLOWN" performance eather,so that is why I posted my Q here. Why you start biching at me right away,I didnt just posted here for no reason. Thanks for answering my Q :( .
JiveMasterT, u know what I ment by "BLOWN" so dont act like u are retarded or some, aint kool at all :thumbdown .

not trying to start a flame war or anything, but how could i know what you mean when you dont even know what you mean? the term blown can be used in many different ways from, the status of an engine, to the modifications on the engine, to your trashcans during a windy day.

once again, if the engine is blown it could mean it was messed up bad where your piston rings are fried or something of that sort, or it could mean that it has a blower / supercharger on it. typically if someone comes up to you and says "my engine is blown" then that means that they did something wrong and their engine is no longer working.

so before you call me retarted again think about what i just said and then realize that you are the one being the noob here, seeking information, i gave it to you. on another note, the noobs post stuff in the noobs forums, but so do more experience people because they are trying to help the noobs gain knowledge instead of them all confusing each other.

forgot to mention before that a supercharger works by using the pulleys in the car to drive a fan, similar to a turbo, but it is constantly blowing, which means no lag. the advantage is that you get quick power, but the disadvanatge is that you tend to loose some lower end torque cause your engine is basically working to feed itself, as compared to a turbo where the engine is using its waste to feed it self. commonly, a muscle / drag car will have a blower on it, but a turbo works better for most applications cause you dont loose power in trying to gain it. hope that helps.

yea that help and BTW I didnt call you retard I just said that you was acting like one,but Im sorry for all that and thanks again.

tis ok, i over reacted a bit in my response cause i had just taken some medication for my respiratory infection or whatever it is i have that is making me feel so junky. anyhow, glad i helped, sorry i overreacted.
