i started my car today to find out that the mitsu 4 layer was leaking coolant, so i did a search and found that people are having problems with them leaking. what are some soultions to fix this problems and if i have to replace the headgasket i was looking at a copper headgasket. what are some pros and cons of a copper headgasket or is a wast of time

Personaly, I think it would be a waste of money. Just stick with a regular one.

hey man i bought that same head gasket and didnt have a problem........... was the head machined correctly.....did you tighten the head bolts in sequence and torque spec............and what kind of head bolts are you using. my friend and i both have them with arp studs and have never had a problem at all. check maybe its something stupid

in response to you copper head gasket i havent had any luck with that at all that why i have the mitsu 4 layer. the copper crushed to much when i torqued the head and ended leaking like a week after i put it in and that was at factory specs like 75ftlbs. the mitsu i have that torqued at either 95 or 100. imho i would go with a stock one b4 id go with a copper one you also have to deck the head for a proper seal and that still didnt work. so hopefully this helps a little

the head and block where cleaned and checked for sraightness when the motor was built about 3 months ago the bolts are tq at 80 ft-pd
witch arp recomends in the spec sheet they give you i am not sure what whet wronge but any help would be apperaciatedb

honestly man ive gone with knowledge of older mechanics it says 8o ,so i do 80 but then after warming it up or so i retorwue them down to 95-100 ive done 4 head gasket jobs and never had a problem

Permatex Copper Gasket Sealer Spray. It'll glue the head gasket to the head and block. You won't be able to reuse the gasket but it wont leak. Good luck.
