I am ordering an AGP turbo in next few days likely the RS49 50 trim.
They offer an internal gate and say it don't creep.

I am a bit paranoid about this claim.. I am planning on going with an SS 02 from victory performance. They make them with dumps back into
exhaust like stock setup and also offer external wastegates off the o2 also with dump back to the exhaust option.

Figure this would give near stock sound levels compared to external dumps.

Now the only thing is it costs more of course to buy an external wastegate than the internal one so if the interal would do the job then might get it and hope with the big SS tubular o2 it wouldn't creep.

I don't plan on running the RS49 much below 15psi and hoping to run 18/20 street and occasionaly maybe 25 or so at the track.

Also this external wastegate spring thing is confusing. If you choose say a 13 psi spring does it limit the top more.Or does say a 17 spring let you have more top psi.Otherwise why wouldn't I want a lower spring than I plan on using.

And lastly is the smaller tial like a 38mm sufficient for the 50trim.The price jumps up pretty good for a 40 or 44mm.

Thanks guys..
Oh and if you have an AGP RS49 wouldn't mind hearing your opinions on it.

The tial 38mm will be more than enough for the 50 trim... that is what agp sells in their garrett kits.

The wastgate srping should probably be around 1bar, or 14 psi. With a boost controller you can set it up to double the wastegate spring.

You should really talk with AGP, I think the internal wastegate they use is a 38mm also, so unless you plan on running lower boost than 18 psi the external may not make a big difference.

If you cant dump the external you lose out on some of the performance gain.

I am kind of in the same boat you are... extept I am trying to choose between a manifold and wastegate... or getting my 50 trim converted by AGP.

I will probably just go with an internal gate and an evo o2 housing and spend all the cash I save on other mods.

I might want to recommend you going with our full kit. When you start adding up the pricing of an RS, External Wastegate, Tubular O2 housing, etc., you come really close in price of our full kit.

Thanks Ben but don't really want the manifold wastegate.Already have evo manifold to use.So need to get the o2 and decision now is only if get your internal gate on the RS49 or an external gate to put on the new o2 housing.
But either way you will be selling an RS49.:D

i had their 57 trim with the upgraded internal wastegate. lowest boost i could run was 18 psi. never creeped even a little. i say go for the internal if money is a concern.

I would go for the external wastegate, my internal gate 50 wouldn't run anything below 24 psi:cry: I was later informed that was because I had an 02 dump it would creep.I haven't added another 02 hausing that goes into the exhaust to see if in fact it wouldn't creep as bad, or if it would make that much difference . In the long run if I new than what I do now I would have got the kit and saved myself alot of frustration. Not to mention the 2 months I have been waiting for my VP hausing with wastegate:cry:
