Ok a couple of questions from a porting newbie.

1. How much does porting normally cost?

2. How long does it take? My car is a daily driver and i will need it.

3. Is porting something i can do myself?

Thanks

Porting is not that difficult. I do all my own porting. It doestake some patience and skill, but that comes with practice. You would need at least one high speed die grinder(air powered), several arbide and non ferrous bits, and an assortment of stones, rolls and flapper wheels. This sound like alot, but not really all that expensive. The breakdown is about 50-100 for a decent die grinder, the bits are about $10 each(minimum two), and a full port and polish kit is about $70. So even with the best die grinder, your still only at around $200. And that will port many things. I ported both these my self:

Do you know how anyplace or website that you could get some kind of training for learning how to port &polish

No. My advice would be to get the stuff and some junk cyl heads from a salvage yard(You can get these for like 20 bucks) Practice on those. Start with iron, then when you are really good with that, practice with alluminum. Iron is pretty easy to work with. It is very forgiving. Alluminum, on the other hand, can be a mutha to work with. If your not careful you could easily ruin an alluminum cyl head. Or come to my neck of the woods. Ill teach ya, HEHE:D

The exhaust(turbine) housing. If you look into the inlet of a 7cm housing, you will notice a step. That step can be removed. A little more material can be taken away to right past where the wastegate hole is. I do not port any farther then this, as it can compromise the A/R. I then polish inside as far down as my grinder will reach. You can also open up the area behind the wastegate and smooth it out. Or if using an external setup, open up the hole. Some people also have thier compressors extrude honed. But this is mostly a polishing procedure for places that cannot be accesed.

hmm... new concept for me!

Dont know if i'd be able to do this myself, but... how much would this help my t-25?

and if I go around asking shops (say an import shop of some kind) how much they would charge me for this... what should i expect as an answer?!?

i want a bigger turbo.. but dont have the $800-$1000 to spend right now.
