plugs and wires

I have added a few performance things to my car and have not yet bought new plugs and wires or for. I searched and found NGK to be pretty much the best for the money, is this right? Im not gonna go bigger than a big t-28 turbo. What serial number plugs would i want? Any reccomendations for a reputable vendor who has reasonable prices and stocks these items? Thanks alot, matt

about everywhere you look plugs are about $3 each. Prostreetonline.com has them for $12 for a set of 4 shipped. You will want BPR7ES plugs, which are one range colder than the stock BPR6ES plugs.

NGK plug wires are your best bet.

As for plugs, go to autozone i think they're less that $2 each. And you want BR7ES not BPR7ES. The BPR7ES plugs extend further into your cumbustion chamber and can cause predetonation. Stick with the BR7ES plugs.

If that's the case then why do Extreme Motorsports and Prostreet both stock BPR7ES plugs, but not BR7ES? The P simply means that it's construction is a projected insulator type.

Well what i stated above is not only from hearsay, it's also from experience. With the BPR7ES plugs, i would get hella knock at a 12:1 A/F ratio at 20 psi. Now that i've switched to BR7ES plugs, there's no more knock. That's more than coincidence

Perhaps preignition and pinging, but not detonation. Something's up if changing from projected tips makes your engine happy ( I suspect you're just a wisp lean). For real-world use, projected-tip plugs are better for cooling and cleaning of the plug tip.

The miniscule amount a plug tip projects just isn't enough to affect preignition.
