I am building a first gen. short block, its a 1991 year. I want to use crower rods but I am not sure on the pistons. Can you guys giive me some feedback upon what you reccomend. Also if crower rods aren't that great, tell me what you would reccomend. Thanks

Whatever your little DSM heart desires, as long as its forged. ;)

I would recommend Ross as being the best piston to go with, but JE and Wiseco are both also excellent choices.

Eagle rods are also a good choice, and can handle 600+hp. Crowers are the best on the market that I know if, other than maybe Carrillo rods.

From my research, JE's recommend a bogus piston to wall clearance and compared to Wiseco and Ross pistons, they tend to slap more. Out of the three, I recommend Wiseco pistons because they have a smaller piston to wall clearance (less prone to piston slap). Get Wiseco or Ross pistons with low compression for flexible tuning in pump gas applications.

Eagle rods are cheap and good for 600+whp.
