I have a 95 talon TSi AWD that i am getting ready to start building. I have read many forums on fuel tunning programs, systems, shortcuts, etc. I also read ludachris' FAQ on "which fuel controller to use" and it was very informative but was directed more towards 1G dsm's.

I am shooting for a sub-12 sec. car and this is my wish list so far:

AGP 50 trim
greddy big fmic
marc hallman mbc
full 3" exhaust
wal 255
injectors
hks cams
eventually a 6 bolt swap
dejon intake pipe
guages
I have ACT 2600#
Plugs, wires, etc.

Where i am having trouble is with the fuel controller options. I would like to vent my BOV and the only two options that i can find so far are;

Stand alone (a little extreme for me right now)
GM Mas and translator (mixed reviews, not sure?)

Is there any other options?
I do like what i read about the dsm link but correct me if im wrong but this will not alow me to vent the bov to atmosphere?

Also what kind of sound could i expect with the parts that i specified above without venting the bov? I have heard some dsm's that werent vented that still omitted a similar sound.

Thanks for the advice:thumb:

Yeah, from what I know, you can do the GM maf and a translator or a stand-alone, otherwise you should route it back into the intake. I got a atmosphere dumped GReddy Type-S and I am going to run it back into the intake. As far as sound..... it depends on the BOV. The GReddy Type-S is still loud when ran into the intake. But I am not sure about others..... The BOV sound is cool, but after a while, you will be more focused on tuning than "cool sounds" and you will wish you ran it back into the intake.... I did  What type of BOV are you using???

I plan on using a 1G for now and getting the greddy later on down the road...

As far as tuning systems, DSMLink is by far the coolest thing to hit 2g DSMs since the 16g. And you're a 95 so you won't even have to get a new ECU; just send yours in and get it done.

Can I ask why you would like to vent your BOV? You don't gain any performance from venting. You must want to fit in with the Honda crowd with some bling bling.:p

Well if you are using the 1G, you probably wont hear it very loud if you run it back into the intake, but with the GReddy, you should hear it. Either way, the bad affects out-weigh the good ones when atmosphere dumping you BOV. It is meant to be ran bacvk to the intake and should stay that way. The cool sound shouldnt be at the expense of the way the car performs. put your tube back on, LOL :thumb:

well apexi claims that the new software in the s-afc2 can compensate for the loss of air due to venting the bov. has anyone bought one and been able to solve the problem?? im lookin into buyin one once i get the cash to buy some injectors. i have a tial and goin back into the intake is not an option.

i'm running dsmlink ver.2 with a gm maf and venting is not a problem for me! the reason i decided to vent is, at the boost presures i run a tial bov was needed and you can't recirculate the tial!
dude, get dsm link ver.2 and run the gm maf! with dsm link you can clamp the barometric signal and that makes the car run much better and is much, much easier to tune!

I know that venting does not gain any performance but imo it sounds aggressive and mean. I for one want to show off all the money i put into the car, and i dont care much to have a sleeper. But i also do not want to hurt anything or loose performance, and that is why i am asking for the best way to accomplish this. As for right now i am not venting and i wont until i have what i need.

I am interested in what you are saying about the SAFC and i would like to know if its true.

Let me know what you find out.

Just because honda's and fast and furious utilizes vented bov doesnt make it silly or stupid, just my .02:D

You make a good point but unfortunately the guy that had the car before me had a dsm link and when he wrecked it he took all the performance stuff off and swapped the ECU with a 98 spyder one. Figures thats my luck. But i am not apposed to getting a 95 eprom and using the dsm link.

Thanks for the advice..:thumb:

thanks for the tip but the link is blank??? Could you give it to me again please

Thanks,
