I looked at the times and didn't see very many for the evo big 16g.I did of course see a lot for the evo 8 cars and realize they are similar.

Still would like to see some times with the evo and list of other mods and 60fts etc.

I have narrowed down my purchase to the evo big 16 and possibly the
AGP RS49 but could be swayed to the evo 16 if it can for sure get in the 12s ,possibly high 11's.

So even if you can't verify your time with a timeslip that don't matter to me.

There was a reason this wasn't responded to the first time. This information is in hundreds of other threads. A 14b can get you into the 12's. If you can't get into 12's with an EVOIII and AWD you aren't tuning well...at all.

I know this is a little old, but if anyone can chime in on this with some times it would greatly help my turbo decision. :D

Wow, this thread is over two years old. I ran a 13.4 with an ported/clipped B16G with 1.75 60' (which I can't believe that I pulled with the tires that I had on there). I should have been in the high twelves but the hour and a half drive to the track heat soaked the intake manifold and I didn't have enough time to let it cool down. I only got two runs in that night before they closed the staging lanes down.

My intake temps were way above where they usually are. They were about 30 degrees above where I can usually keep them which I am sure really hurt my times. I know that the car was just dying up top due to the temps.

If you do a search I am sure that this information is all over the forums.

Well, maybe I'm not searching right because I could only find 2 other threads with "Evo times" as the criteria as the post title. I'm still searching though, with just "Evo" as the criteria.

I'm searching for what turbo to get with this setup on a 99 GSX, pretty much stock 57,000 miles, MT. I want low 12's on Pump Gas at full weight.

A-Pillar Pod - Done

Try using EvoIII or some variant, it will yield much better results:

For a clutch you are going to want the 2600, but with the ACT spring failures (search for that too) you may want to consider a different brand (slowboy comes to mind).

650's are probably too small. If you have DSMlink (or will have) you can adjust any injectors to work correctly. You might as well give yourself plenty of tuning room. 650's have been known to run out of juice on turbos bigger than a standard 16g.

You probably are having trouble finding info because you are concerned with 1/4 mile times. Most people are looking for peak airflow and/or hp numbers. It's a lot easier to get those numbers from DSMlink or on a dyno and there are no variables other than tuning since it's a WOT run in one gear. Once you get to the track, a 250hp car can outrun a 400hp car because there is a driver involved.

I went 12.55@106 with a 1.701 60' on my Evo III 16g with the stock smic and pipes using C-16.

Mods:
2g mas w/ intake pipe
Buschur 3" tbe
TurboTrix 2.5" o2 housing w/ atmospheric dump
Ported 2g exhaust mani
Walboro 255
Hallman Pro MBC
RC 550's
s-afc
ACT 2600

Car weighed in at 3197 with me in it. Full interior carpets everything, only things taken out were spare tire and tools.

I think you need to be a little more detailed in that case, what use are you looking to get out of this car? Unless you are trying to set the pump record with a evoIII, I don't see why you can't tune on the street with pump and have something mighty quick, and then toss in some race gas when you hit the track, change the tune and get deep into the 12s.

I guess I just don't understand the obsession everyone has with having a car that runs 11's that you are going to drive to work everyday. When the F are you going to use that power? From stoplight to stoplight in the 40mph zones?

Someone just put up a thread about a friend that burned to death in his car after a rollover accident too. No reason to do this stuff on the street.:toobad:

Whatever, I'm just ranting. Take it for what it's worth.
