Port sheetmetal problem

If you had a ported head how would you get it to match the ports on a Magnus or other sheet metal intake maniold? I take it you couldnt port the intake manifold very much/at all. Would it be a problem if the port on the heads were bigger, not gaining anything from the port area but causing the air to become turbulent?
 
IF your port job opened up the head ports that much, then that is, well too much! I dont think it is wise to do that, because that is not were the gain is realized. THe enterance to the cylinder, and the divider is the area that serious gains are realized. Simply making the enterance to the valve ports huge wont do a hole lot
