hey fellas,
I did ALOT of research on the turbo that best suits my needs. I have all of the supporting mods for a turbo upgrade, minus the fmic, DSMLink and 660 injectors. I just recieved my ported EVOlll exhaust manifold and SS O2 housing. I am also going to run an external gate. What size wastegate would be enough for a 50-trim? Also, is there any more mods that I need like, upgraded cams, intake manifold, throttle body. I have a 1995 Eagle Talon TSi AWD. All of the exhaust, intake and fuel pump(255) is takencare of. I just need to know if someone has a 50-trim with a set-up that makes full use of a 50-trim. I searched areound and got pretty vague answers, so that is why I posted this tread. Thanks in advance.

Well, you have everything takin care of as far as fuel management, and the only thing your going to need now is a good FMIC. I had an internally gated garrett 50 trim and ran mid 12s on fairly low boost w/ a Greddy FMIC. But cams, if your looking for the extra umff, then go ahead and get cams. A first gen throttle body is a cheap upgrade and works well.

Do you have an AFPR? I dont see it on that list above. If you dont have that, then I suggest you get one.

I have a B&M Commandflo fpr. Will that be suffice?

Well yes and no.

B&M Command flo only raises fuel pressure, however you can just use your DSMLink and tune around it so thats not really that big of a deal. As long as you tune for the extra fuel pressure then you can make use of it and not let it hurt you. YOu will just have to lean out a little before the turbo starts to come on to make up for the extra pressure, say under 3k rpm.

If your sticking with a stock manifold then FP Green would be the turbo of choice for you. Get the 34mm flapper mod too so you don't end up with creeping issues.

I have a 35mm tial gate and it works fine, keeps the boost as low as 14 psi (thats the spring pressure i have) and I havent had any issues with it creeping or anything like that.

I'd recommend going with 720's rather than 660's. I'm at 80% duty cycle on my 660s on pump tuning. I haven't turned up the boost with race gas yet, but an upgrade to 720's is in my near future. Save yourself the trouble and get the 720's, they give you more room to play with and are the same price.
Also, you'll definitely need the front mount (I believe AGP has a nice kit coming out).
Cams really make this turbo come alive, so be sure to get those soon after the FMIC. 264/272 or 272/272 <---- the better choice.

Oh, and I don't think TIAL makes the 35mm wastegate anymore, the 38mm has pretty much taken it's place. Works great.

The only problem with going with 720s is that it is harder to keep the timing in check. Especially if you are using an AFC or similar to tune. Remember the more airflow you take out with an AFC, the more timing advance the ECU will give you. On pump gas you can only take it so far before bad things happen.
