All I need to know, if you had a big 16g and a small 16g sitting in front of you, which one do you choose to put on your car and why? Oh and the small 16g is clipped, and they both have ported 7cm2 housings

small 16g just because thats what i have :D
They all are great turbos, I doubt you'd notice much(or any) difference between them.

Something that may help is examining the compressor maps for the two, keeping in mind what you're gonna be doing with the car (autocross, dragging, street, etc.). I read someone a little while back saying that unless you're on race gas or running very high PSI, the small 16G actually outflows the Big (the "regular" Big, I don't know about the EVO) for most of the map. I haven't had a chance yet to check that out for myself, though-- besides, it's too late for me since I just put in a Big16G because I got a great deal on it.

yeah, taht is what im hearing also, and that is why Im asking, because this is the desicion I have to make! If you look at the timeslips at DSM.org, the you will notice all the small 16g do just as good as the big 16g and the small's actually trap faster most of the time!

What sort of porting has been done on your turbos? I'd take the one that doesn't have an enlarged wastegate.

I trapped 118 with my Evo III 16G. For a 16G it sure packs a whalop.

damn thats a nice trap speed. What mods and what kind of gas were you running(c16?). What was your e.t.?
