Couple Isuzu truck turbo and ic questions?

Anyone using the Isuzu NPR truck intercooler? Do they work well with our car? Anyone using the NPR's turbo? I heard diesel turbos are too big for gasoline cars, but the NPR is only 2.5L (IIRC), so it shouldn't be that big, right? Does anyone know the size of those turbo? I searched, but only 1 thread was relevant. Thanks in advance.

Well, I'm not sure about the intercooler thing. But I've read that with Diesel turbos, the turbos have quite a different sizing of Exhaust to Intake turbine ratio, because they run such high boost, and the engines have such high compression.

Even though the engines may be sized similar (if you had a 2.0 L diesel for instance). It more than likely would end up being a horribly slow turbo.

I have a friend that used to use a Small Isuzu NPR intercooler on his 96 mirage turbo with a 16G. Worked pretty well but he upgraded to a t4, now he uses a spearco fmic. I would like to get my hands on one though. It would suit my truck application well. Right now Im using a Volvo 740 turbo FMIC.

If you want a truck turbo, look for a Mistubish-Fuso delivery truck. Some of them came with a 20G, but it has a 10 cm exhaust housing which you'd have to swap for a 7 cm housing.

The NPR works out great IMO. I pulled mine from a local junkyard for $10 and cut it down to where I wanted and had a friend who's a welder make me new end tanks and the i/c piping. I think it cost me like $100 for everything and I'm pleased with it.

I've also seen a thing on here about using the I/C from Saab's performance upgrade shop and it looks like a really good idea. The I/C is like 170 brand new and all you'd need is to relocated the tank entrance and exit. I'm going to check into it next.
