I know this has been discussed but which is the easier install on a 2g. I want street perfromance and drag strip on ocassion. I have read that the FP30 series you need a thiner fan.

I have a 1998 GSX with 50,000 miles and
Fp t28 ported
thermal exhaust
3" stainless cat
apexi dp
injen intake
1g bov
DB upper intercooler pipe
profec b
defi boost gauge and tach
symborski shifter kit

Which one will be the best turbo for street or strip
The reason for the change I just put on the FPt28 but it just isnt enough power. I know I will need more supporting mods like bigger injectors, fuel control, and fmic.

a green will be much easier for you to install but i believe the pte 50 trims are better and priced better than the fp greens. the fp3052 would be the ultimate turbo but requires new parts like a tial40mm wastegate, custom made o2 housing, dumptube, and slim fans. also you should look into getting a fmic and a better fuel system to support any kind of turbo larger than your current one.

Looking at your mod list id stay away from all of the above mentioned turbos. you will need at least 2.5K in supporting mods to even think about a 50 trim, green or 3052 on top of the cost of the turbo.

Happy Boosting.

It all depends on you. Don't just let somebody tell you what they have and how it works great for them, and base your opinion on that. And i say this with all due respect, but it's all about what you wanna do. How hardcore you wanna get when it comes to the street or strip. If you have the money get the rest of the supporting mods so you can get a big fat turbo. But a 20g will still get you well into the 12's with the right tuning.:talon:

even a 20g will need a fuel system and support for it. an internally or externally gated pte turbo would be cheaper than any new 20g and would probally perform better. the pte 50 trim is an excellent turbo. the agp kit is great. i have the garret GT 30bb 65lbs turbo kit on my car. it is an excellent turbo kit. my only complaint is the manifold needs to be jet hot coated. its a must. if you have the money the agp 50 trim would be the way to go. but if your on a budget the pte 50trim is the best bang for the buck. it has enough flow to get you deep in the 11's with enough supporting mods.

I was having the same green or 3052 debate with myself. Both were going to be external for me so that didn't play in as much. After research and talking to FP I now have a 3052 sitting beside me (got it yesterday :) ).

Pictures of the FP 3052

Tial stopped making the 40mm wastegate, so I got a 44mm WG. You can run a 38mm if you vent it out the hood. ;)

What these guys are saying is absolutely true. I completely understand how you feel. However, there a certain things you should do before a turbo upgrade(Even a Big 16G). I see that you don't even have a clutch installed. What's the use of all that power when your clutch is totally burned out? Just look at the 2G upgrade path bro, you can't go wrong. :thumb: As for a turbo specifically, the 50 trim series from PTE seems to be the best thing on the market right now. The FP3052 is a great turbo, but it's going to take a grip of supporting mods to run with it. I wouldn't even consider the 20G. It was a great turbo in it's time, but now there are so many turbos (i.e. PTE 50-56 trim) that are more efficient, and cost the same. Don't sell yourself short man.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. My clutch and flywheel are ready to be installed on my car so I do have that covered. As far as fuel mods are concerened I forgot to mention I have the 190 fuel pump. So I just need injectors. Probably 550 or 660. I think I will do some serious consideration about the 50 trim series from PTE.

Go with at least 660s on these types of turbos. Not to mention it will give you alot more room to tune with.

I'd love to see that!!! :D

You don't think a 190lph could do it? I'm asking cause I'm going with a much bigger turbo soon, and I may have to change pumps too.

You're going to jail Manuel Alves Jr. :)

It's about time someone pressed charges against grifting Manny.

i would probally rewire the 190lph just to be on the safe side. dave. c's old eagle talon went 12.2 on a denso 150 fuel pump rewired with a t60-1. i think you should be able to run a 190 hardwired without a problem.
