What are the advantages and disadvantages of both compared. Isn't then n/t 420a a Chrysler made engine (same as a Neon) and the Turbo one Japanese made? I'm getting mixed opinions on both can some people please help me out...

You are right. They are completely different engines. RS/GS is a non-turbo chrysler engine. And the 4g63 is a japanese built eninge.

If you wanna get technical, the 4g63 was built here in america for some of the years. Hence, crankwalk :).

Yep...I personally like the 4g63 better than the 420a. One was made and built to be turbo'd...the other wasn't. Yes, some 420a's have shown that they can handle high hp...but the amount of 4g63's that drive daily with 400+hp...yeh its more than the amount of all the high hp 420a's.

Advantages of 420a
-Isn't prone to crankwalk
-Car that came with it is cheaper
-Better gas mileage than 4g63

Advantages of 4g63
-Already a turbo platform
-Capable of around 400hp on a completely stock, untouched motor
-Pretty much bulletproof unless your an idiot...or are really pushing it and want to blow it up

Disadvantages of 420a
-Less power
-Not as strong of an engine
-Didn't come with a turbo so cylinder walls are slightly thinner, higher compression...

Disadvantages of 4g63
-2g 7bolt motors can crankwalk
