Raleigh,
Hey im considering buying a new TurboXS Type H BOV froma guy who is looking to get rid of it for $100. I had intended to buy a Greddy Type S but if the TurboXS is similar i'll prolly settle for the lower price. So does anyone have any info or experience on the Type H TurboXs? how does it sound and work in comparison to the Greddy S. Is it worth getting for the $100. Please post ASAP cuz i might buy tomorrow. Thanks!

I personally wouldn't get it-- it does not recirculate, it vents to atmosphere only. I have the Type H34 that does recirculate, and it's OK. I'll probably try something different next time, though.

I have the turbo sx that is reserculated and i liked it. Only reason i got rid of it was i put on a fmic and need to sell the bov to make some money and i had a 1g crushed laying around. So basicly i needed money. I will see this for 100 too if you want the turbo sx bov. Its a good bov, but needs a little modificaion to bolt up perfectly. Not hard at all took me about 10 mintues to put on.

I've had the type H before. If you don't mind the occasional rough idle, the nI personally don't think it's a bad choice. And as for sound, IMO there is only one louder- the RFL- which just happens to be the one I have now. :)

I had the Type H as well its an alrite BOV. Sounds real good but i didnt want to deal with the rough idle any more and just went with the greddy type s. If i were you i would just go with that one besides it sounds better IMO i think. Not as loud just cooler sounding and you can chose to vent it or not.

HEy. I'd like to thank you guys for the input. I actually decided to hold off on the BoV for now. I'm having to install a SMIC into my car that somehow didnt have one. and all the piping is re routed and screwed up. Anyway if anyone knows where any diagrams on how to install a SMIC are and like how the piping SHOULD look, PLEASE let me know.. cuz right now im befuddled. anyways i've heard TOO many bad thigns about atmosphere venting BOV's so i think imma stick with one that recirculates. any comments on which recirculating one sounds the best?>>

Correct. I work at the dealership where i bought the car and purchased it because i got it for a sick price beign an employee. 97 Gs-T with 85,000 miles for only $5500 after all taxes, tags, titles, fees, etc. Anyway there was only 1 owner before me and you can tell that he either hit something in the front right or ran into a ditch and came down really hard on the front right side because the axle boot was broken, ball joint was broken, and as i just realized the intercooler i believe was also damaged, and as opposed to fixing all this, i think he just traded it in and took out the damaged intercooler and screwed with the piping so it bypasses and goes straight from the turbo directly up into this plastic pipe that goes to the bov and badck into the air intake manifold. in addition to this i think the bov area is also a little off. Thats why i really need some help with figuring out exactly how all this SHOULD look. Think i should just go buy a haynes manual???

No! You work at a dealership-- get a real Mitsu service manual. It's a LOT better than the Haynes. Even for people that do not work at dealerships, opt for the shop manual instead of a third party one.
