Where to get custom short route IC pipeing?

Does anyone know where I can get some short route intercooler pipes made they need to be 2 1/2 " with TB elbow, and flanged for a 1G BOV. I am thinking that I will have to either piece them together myself, or have an exhaust shop mandrel bend them for me, but I was woundering if anyone made them and has some for sale? Thanks,

VPE does but they dont guarantee it will work with every core since its built to work with their cores. Also its like $400. Go to a local shop and have them build it for cheaper than you'll find on the internet.

I got my short routed intercooler piping done by Dejontool (www.dejontool.com). The piping was great and also customer service is awesome and you will get fast as well. He would be able to weld on the 1g bov flange as well.

well, it depends how "custom" you need it too be...right now you needs don't sound like anything any of the DSM companies dont already have.

You just need to know how your endtank design is and look at some of the companies that sell kits and see if theirs will work with yours.

Also, If you really need special bends and everything, it may be easier just to have some shop fab it all up for you.

RRE Mandrel Bends These Guys have what you need to do the job. I've been looking into some custom pipes myself.


If you go
HERE you can score a Saab FMIC for like $190. Now, the big question is, can you buy that core and the all the piping for less than the price of a complete kit? If you go here and check out THIS , you'll notice that he grabbed some copper pipes/elbows and had em powder coated to make his setup. That sounds like a great way to get off cheap.

I'm not sure if there are any drawbacks to using copper... so that would probably be a great question to ask here.

well, its heavy as crap, is extremely soft and malleable, and is prone to corrosion.

Copper Elbows

Woah, settle down there sparky. Maybe you should click on my link from above and check out his powder-coated-so-it-doesn't-corrode-and- look-like-the-Statue-of-Liberty copper elbows. Had you read my first post in its entirety, links included, perhaps you woulnd't have had to grab your high school chemistry book to look up the properties of copper.

Excluding weight, do you think there would be any serious strength issues involved with powder-coated copper? I'm not saying I'd want to use it for the whole system, but saving even $10 per elbow would be great. (I'm going under the assumption that 5 extra lbs of weight is of no concern to those of us trying to get off cheap )

Why not just elbows from the Pep Boys? They have them on the rack, just weld 'em up.

Alright, thanks for the ideas, the intercooler I have is a side by sideinlet and outlet on the passenger's side, striaight into the engine bay, not the stock location. Either way, if someone did make a pipe for that (which I haven't been able to find yet, and I have been searching) I would be better off making some I think. I will probably have an exhaust shop bend some galvanized pipe. I don't like a lot of connections, so I don't want to piece it together with elbows. Later~
