ok i have a 2.0 motor now with crower rods and wiseco pistons, would it be possible to JUST switch out the crank and make a 2.3l stroker or do i need custom rods and pistons? ive never looked up info on the 2.3 just the 2.4.....

damn...so a new crank and pistons...

not TOO bad i guess, but then im assuming i need all new bearings and a bunch of other BS

is it really worth the added expense to get a 2.4l block?

If you have a good 4G63 motor, I would think that going with the 2.3L stroker kit would be more cost effective than doing a 4G64 swap. You only give up .1 liters of discplacement and the 4G64 crank thats going in your 4G63 is one step in the direction of having a complete 4G64 anyway. To me the 2.3L stroker option is good because I have a bare short block 6 bolt 4G63 laying around without a crankshaft. I can just go out and buy a complete 2.3L stroker kit with JE pistons and Crower rods for a pinch under 2K and drop it right in ( after the usual machining of course ). If you're a daily driver, than its great because you have more down low power to get you around town without having to rev the motor as high, while the drag racing guys ( especially AWD ) get the extra torque off the line which makes for awesome 60' times. There is no downside to more displacement, unless more power is a bad thing. And a little extra power never hurt anyone ( except maybe the guy you were racing;) ).
