ok so today im driving my car around for like the 1st time since i bought it over a month ago and it keeps killing everyware i go. everytime id be coming to a stop and put it in nuetral it would kill. i dont get it. I just a few minutes ago put in the EGR blockplate and took it out for a drive and it still kills. i got the new ECU caps coming monday but i looked at the orignal ones and they didnt leak at all. although they smelled funny. anyone have an idea to what the problem is? do you think the gas is bad or something because its been in tehre for a long long time.

could be one of the following:

Idle screw backed out too much or missing
Idle sensor is bad (you have to measure impedance to determine)

Look at VFAQ.com, they have a section of idling.

another possiblity is that your throttle body has build up, clean it :)

no i got the all the lines hooked back up to egr sensor because i never unhooked them. i just took out the gasket made a replacement block and put it back in. and still runs bad. do u thing that maybe my o2 sensor is bad? when i first start the car.. it runs great but then after its warmed up it runs bad.

thats what i think it is too man.... im gonna check it tomorrow when i goto my dads work. i looked up the part on checking it so we will see.
