A friend of mine came into pepboys tonite (where I work my second job to pay for parking at my first job) and he has an RX-7 and he asked me if I wanted his avc-r. He said that he would sell it to me for $300 and its brand new in the box. I've heard that it a pain to set up so I'm not sure if I should get it or just get the Profec B (which is very easy it set up and is only another 40 or so dollars. Does any one have any experience with the avc-r?
Let me know

i wouldn't recommend it, i just sold mine. i used to have a profec b, and I LOVED IT... the avc-r, wasn't too reliable holding boost...sometimes it would hold just fine, sometimes it wouldn't. i tried using the learn mode, and that sucked...tried changing the duty cycle manually...that was a pain in the as$.

GET a PROFEC B!!!

or just make your own MBC.

You can get the TurboXS Dual Stage Boost Controller. It's like an MBC except you can switch between high and low boost. Or 2 different boost levels you prefer.

I haven't heard anything bad about this boost controller.

Search the classifieds, there is a GB if you are interested ;)

for $300 you should definitely get it and sell it right away.

ANywhere you look, they never go for less then $450-$480, so make some cash on it, and let others bang their head over it.

I was a believer once too, but mbc works just too good.
