I have a 2nd gen eagle talon, i am putting a 1st gen block with a 2nd gen head in there, what modification will have to be made to accomidate this. Also, i hear i should install a 1st gen CAS, i hear all i have to do is wire it right and throw it on and the car is good to go. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

becuase then i would have to get a 1st gen intake and throttle body and some other shit. Plus the 2nd gen head i have is rebuilt, 1mm over valves, double springs, titanium retainers, ported...ect....

You will need the 1G CAS since the bottom end of the 1st Gen does not have a spot for the CAS on the front case like the 2G's have. Simply follow the rewire directions as noted on www.magnusmotorsports.com tech articles section. There is nothing wrong with using a 2G head on a 1G block, however you will need to have the head drilled out for the head bolts off the 1G since they are 1mm bigger than the 2G head bolts. I suggest you use ARP head studs and a metal head gasket. A shop can drill your head out or you can do it yourself.

If your car is a 95 or 96 you will also have to swap some plug wires to accomodate the new sensor. 97 and up does not require the plug swap. Make sure you get a 1G water pump and new belts as the 2G belts won't fit the 1G motor, excluding timing belt, the 2G belts seem to be a bit short. The 2G water neck will also stay with the head just make sure you use the front water pipe that goes from the water pump to the water neck off the 2G motor. You won't have to cut the counterwight off your tranny or buy new hoses since your using a 2G head with the 2G waterneck.

That should do it man. Good luck with your swap. I have done it and wanted to make sure I pointed out all you need to know. That Magnus link pretty much gives the whole run down. Another place to check for info is www.vfaq.com and goto the engine section and look for the 1G motor in a 2G section that will cover things like modifing your engine mount and other misc items I missed. Once again, good luck.
