Everything is coming together nicely but Im still undecided about my fuel management. I have a fp big 28 and Im soon getting a supra sidemount and 550's. So for tuning should I go with the pocketlogger and SAFC or spend the money and get a DSM Link? I know DSM Link is awesome but I dont know if I need that much? The tuning will be done by a local dsm shop and they have tuned cars with the SAFC and pocketlogger. Im just curious so Ill be sure and ready when the time comes. Thanks in advance:thumb:

But for the setup I am putting on now, what should I do? I dont plan on doing anything else with this car.

No seriously, I dont want anything more out of this car because its my get around vehicle for college.

Well maybe it will get more but not anytime soon. School is here and all my money is there.

$300 for the AFC + $100+ for the logger,
vs $650 for the DSMLink. Ignoring the cost of a laptop or palm(needed for either one) and the possibility of buying used(applies equally to either product), the difference in cost is around $250. The pocketlogger will get you data at a slow rate, and leave you guessing about how much knock retard you really have. The AFC will allow you to adjust fuel, but every time you do, it will affect your timing as well. You want to dial in more timing for different gas, or different turbo setup? Gonna have to adjust your fuel to do this, which means picking injectors to match your turbo each and every time. DSMLink will tell you exactly how much knock the ECU is seeing, and tell you everything else at a rate that is WAY faster than a pocketlogger. The logging difference alone is worth $250. On top of that, it will allow you to dial in your injectors to work just like stock, whatever size you want, and not have to worry about your fuel settings messing up your timing. Your timing can be adjusted as much as you want, without having to worry about it screwing up your fuel. That is worth $250 as well, IMO. And thats not even taking into consideration all of its other benefits(warning light for knock and other problems, multiple rev limits, removal of fuel cut, etc).
Personally, I'd look at an emanage before an AFC. But it still suffers many of the constraints of the AFC here, and there is no way I would get the AFC(or emanage)+ logger combo for a 95, when DSMLink isn't much more. The race features on it are worth it, and the way it works WITH the stock ECU code instead of trying to fool it to get the desired results, results in simple tunability, and is great for daily drivers.

I think this has been drilled over and over. I don't understand why when you see what problems you cause by trying to trick the ecu.

Does DSM Link also have the ability to clear CEL? I would hope so. Ive heard such great thing about DSM Link and I want to get it. My problem is finding someone to help me tune, because I have never done it before. I bet I could get my hands on a laptop and I bet I could sell my pocketlogger and palm easy. Does anyone know a good place to get tuning done in the Reno area. I would be willing to travel to california. The main thing I want is when I get all this stuff put on I want the car to perform and feel like this is how it came stock. Can you guys help me out?

Tuning isn't that hard if you take your time and slowly start adjusting the settings abit at a time I would start with fuel first, then start adding some timing. As for CEL's, yes it can clear CEL's as well as disable a few like EGR and rear O2 sensor.

Thats what I like to hear about the CEL thing. Im going to start looking for a lap top.

Also, I think SAC DSM might be planning a dyno day sometime in Janurary.. we should hit that up :thumb:

Why would I do that when my car is stock? I wont have everything on and ready in January Ryan.
