Just bought a T3

i just bought a Toyota T3 turbo from a guy (200 bones) who wrecked the #@%#@%#@%#@% out of his Celica before he could put it on.

can i put this on a stock 1st Gen (tsi) motor without getting aftermarket moving engine parts? or am i running a risk of blowing my motor?someone told me something about getting a custom header put on, but im new to this stuff so i really dont know. i already picked up a MBC cuz i thought that would be all that i needed..

well i bought this for 200 bucks, it has no miles on it, and has a box and #@%#@%#@%#@%. its supposed to produce from 200-240hp, which is considerably more than the 70 im getting out of my stock.

i just wonder how my car is going to react to this turbo in a stock form, or if i should beef up my engine before hand.

70? If you have a 96 TSi, you are getting 210 hp stock. If you mean that you are getting 70 addded hp from the stock turbo...the 200-240 doesn't mean you will get that much additional from the T3. It means that with the T3 instead of the T-25 your car will be pushing 200-240 total with the T3.

Misinformation!!! This is quite misleading for the obvious newbie. By simply installing that turbo, a car will not magically have anywhere from 300-550hp. That is with all proper supporting mods (which it's obvious this person doesn't have) and a good state of tune for the low figure and outstanding tuning for the high. The proof is in the pudding, not the picture on the box.

You can do a T3 on your car and for 200.00 that's not bad at all. Get a turbonetics cast iron manifold, or HKS or a equal length tubular. The sites are out there and if you need further information just PM me. The entire setup will run you under a G since you baught the turbo for only 200.00. Can I say it again? 200.00 and new!! Good steal

For the cost of a T3 manifold, and all the other crap you'd need to install a T3 or a T3/T4 Turbo... you could get a 16 for less... trust me

Figure $500 for a decent manifold... atleast.
Custom o2 housing/downpipe...
Add that, with cost of turbo... and you're better off getting a 16g or b16g.

Furthermore without knowing which wheels the turbo has -- it's possible it could be SMALLER then your 14b.

Put the turbo you have on Ebay... get your money back, and grab a 16g.... hell, I have a TRE 16g for sale if your intersted... email me privately ([email protected])
