is there any way to rebuild a motor with a spun bearing????

yeah you can, you still have to take out the whole motor, its strongly suggested you get the crank remachined, and while your doin that you mys well get some 2g pistons :)
 
Yup, with pop there, depending on how badly which bearing spun. Main or rod? A rod bearing can destroy a crank (taking off more metal than you can afford to have welded back on- you save those exercises for cars that don't have millions of used cranks available), a really well-spun main bearing can destroy the bearing saddle well enough to scrap the block.
But routine spins can usually be repaired. Again, the problem is that there's just too many, too available, too cheap used engines to bother with all of it.
 
where would be a good place to buy a 6bolt engine or just the short block(I live in dallas TX)...... and how much do you think it would cost

Best thing to do is to start junkyard surfing and see if there are any 1G 90-92 DSMs out there with the short block still intact.

You could also just buy a rebuilt short block to your specs from most of the vendors on this site. Then have it sent down to you ( or across ). :p
