I just moved to south carolina, Charleston area, and because I have a new job, I have a little more cash flow to inject into my 92 Talon TSI which is pretty much stock except for K&N air filter and a 2100 ACT clutch I put in about 3 months ago.
when I picked this car up with 50k miles on it, My intentions was to maintain everything as a stock 92 tsi awd/ leather and clean.
I'v since Repainted it and I'm not really happy with the paint quality i used (it's not exactly looking all that slick anymore
I'll repaint later - this time with some extremly high quality poly.
As for the Engine and drivetrain - I'm hitting 112k miles Belts were changed at 98k - and I'v pretty much kept this car in good shape by not pushing it beyond the normal mustang vs me races at the street lights.
What I'd like to see is some concepts on what I can modify on this engine to increase performance, as well as decrease maintance.
one concept I'v researched thru these forums was to Upgrade the 1g stock brake calipers and disc's in the front to 2g Big Dual Piston Calipers. Costly upgrade, but I'm under the impression the dual piston design maintains the Disc longer - thus reducing complete disc/pad replacement on my front wheels. Any Truth in this?
Secondly, I'm looking to increase horsepower - many have said to increase the Turbo Manifold all the way back to the tailpipe to a larger diameter pipe. I have yet to see a price range for this. can someone point me in a direction of lower cost pipes that are quality.
Last, a lot of people talking about Fule pumps, Bigger Turbos, and ECU upgrades/addons -
I want a more powerful Talon, but - I'm not exactly sure as to what steps I should take to start doing these upgrades - any information on the process of upgrading would be extermly useful to me, and I thank you in advance.
My Last Performance related question would be - Is it possible to Decrease overall Maintance and increase power/performance?
Thanks

steve steve steve, how many times do i gotta tell ya, get a big fuel pump like a 255 walbro. and afc or gm maf translattor. Also a boost controller up boost to 20 psi...3 inch tubo back exhasut, and port out your turbo and manifold and o2 housing. I mean come on man u rode in my car, if u did what i just said u would be just as fast. ANd on anouther note , the duel pistons are not that much, if i keep this baer racing brake kit, ill sell u my duel piston set up. hit me up ...lata
