Hey guys
my car plans are:
full 3"turbo-back ported o2/UICP/intake pipe and filter

Basically bolt-ons, will i need an S-AFC?
This is for better performance or what?

Is an S-AFC I good enough?

You have a 95/EPROM ECU. I'd shell out the cash for DSMLink. You won't ever grow out of it, plus you get all the cool extras. Stutter box launches, CE light on excessive detonation, datalogging, clear/check trouble codes, no fuel cut, etc.

Room to grow to pretty much as fast as you want, and useful features even if you don't. Generally though, once you get a taste of fast, you'll want more. :D

Along with the basic bolt ons you'll probably end up wanting a BigT28 style turbo and bigger injectors, at which point the DSMLink becomes more useful. The parts to run a bigT28 sized turbo are all good price/performance ratio parts. After that it starts getting more expensive.

^^^Thats all you need to know. If you have a 95 DSM with an EPROM ECU, you get the DSMlink. Period. The DSMlink will run you twice what an AFC would be, but the power is ten fold compared to the AFC. Its as close to a standalone as you can get without replacing the entire ECU.

A little bed time reading. :D

P.S. ( Get the DSMLINK!!!!!!!! :thumb: )

No S-AFC or dsmlink is needed if you remain with the stock injectores. A S-AFC lets you trick the 2g MAS to think less or more air is coming in, which is needed when you upgrade your injectors.

With a t-25 and basic bolt ons, a S-AFC is worthless.

thats not entirely true if he were to be running,say.. different fuel pressure,or a pump with more boost. the car will always be able to be tuned better than stock,if you know what you're doing.

He has a 94 DSMlink is not an option.

let me give you guys a little more insight to see if you could hep me more, my GST has about 104,000 miles and doesn't feel like the strurdies car ever, some problem with suspension and vacuum, i have a 14b on it @ 15psi, i have a fuel pump but don't know wich one(it was on the car already) i've run the car @ 18psi with no problem(ej. fuel cut).

Thing is this is my first turbo car and i bought off a person, the car is good but not excellent, heck it's a 95. I will be purchasing another DSM once i get a job, either 97-99 or a really, really good 95-96. So i won't be sinking much cash into my 95 GST, i think the S-AFC would be my best bet, since this won't be my all out car, so i don't want to invest that much on engine management alone and i don't have a laptop.

I will probably put in some 550's or 510's and call it a day, maybe a 16g and that's it, but DSMlink would be too much.

Anyone using S-AFC I or II here?

actually,in the long run,you may get out of it cheaper with the DSMlink, because with the AFC you can tune, but then you need other things to read in wich to tune from.
