ok i bought a talon for 200. it didn't run right so i did a diagnostics check and it said it was the tps. so i took throttle body off and reset the resistance like on vfaq. did a little free mods. well it still runs like shit. around 4 grand the back just starts spitting white smoke. the guy i bought it from said it was the turbo which seems about right from the smoke and the fact that the stock boost gauge shows no boost. i figured it would show something.

i know that the stock boost gauge works off sensors so do you think a sensor is bad or turbo. and if its a sensor it would show up on a pocket logger yes/no? i am going too hook up my after market gauge on it to see. thanks for the help.

i am almost to the point of parting it out. but i put my boost gauge on today and i got a creep up to 7 psi where it held steady. but one of the hoses that goes from my thermostat housing to the t/b came of(guess i didn't put the clam on good enough) so it started getting really hot. i never let it go past the line before the red but do you think it will be ok. oh my dad thinks i should change my fuel filter and try that.

well i was going to replace the filter today but as i was backing it up i noticed it was running good. well i took it around the block. it was running really strong right up until about 5k then it would sputter a bit. a friend told me to check ignition timing. so i will probably do that

well it was running right. not anymore. changed filter nothing. but it sounds really rich. backfires in between shifts. i don't know what to do. i don't understand how it can go from good to bad in one simple drive.
what happened was, i was out with a friend and at about 5 grand it would sputter well he said maybe it was backfiring and i was having trouble trying to figure out the firing order so i switched the 4 and 1. it ran like craps so i switched them back and it started running like it did when i got the car. hasn't ran good since
