I have a really nice set of 1g rods. i want to put EVO III or 2g pistons on them. I was told and have seen that maching is required. What needs to be machined off and why? I ahve only seen the maching for 2g pistons, do I need to have them machined if I go with the EVO III pistons.

I think it is because 7 bolt piston's have a bigger pin in the end of the rod.

I think they just have to bore the rod out and install the pin for you... something any regular old machine shop should be able to handle.
