when my stock BOV seals in my 2gen eclipse it feels a lot faster? i am thinking about getting the HKS BOV. would that be a good idea? would i need to get a recirrculation tube that is like 15 bucks for the HKS, or jus the GM MAF?
 
Well the recirc kit is your best bet if your not going to run a GM maft setup. If you want to vent to the atomsphere without any problems then your going to need a VPC or GM maft setup.

What problems??? i never experienced any. what kind of porblems are you guys having. other than running a little rich (which i still contribute to have bad o2 sensors) i never experienced any problems.

Yes you have. You sumply refuse to, or are incapable of admitting it. Stop telling people it is ok to vent. It is not. You are wrong. Stop saying it is ok. Dont argue, because you will still be wrong, and you will look stupid on top.
 
dave dont be an ass. i am being honest when i said that i havent had any problems. and no where in my post did i say it's ok. however i did ask what problems were you experiencing... it's possible that i could have been associating a problem for something other then the bov. and no, i dont sound stupid; i am unknowledgable in alot of areas as far as the 4g63 motor is concerned, but i'm not stupid.
 
did i mention that i have the turbo xs rfl bov... there is no venting back with this bov. i have no idle problems, no fuel cutting problems at over 24psi, no knock problems, ect.. like i said before other than running rich which i was contributing to my o2 sensors being bad the car was running great.
 
is running rich not problem enough...? and i garuntee part of your running rich is from venting since it is adding fuel for air that is not actually there. this is a performance forum and other than sounding 'cool' venting has nothing but negative side effects.
 
You may not "seem" to encounter any problems, but I can almost gaurentee that if you put a recirced BOV on, your car would run/drive/perform better.

well i for you newer people that dont know me that well, but were nice enough to respond to my post... just to let you know i purchased the car with the turbo xs rfl bov. i didn't install in on my car and i consider trying to rig it some way to vent back because i thought the bov was way to loud and annoying, and no i didn't think it sounded cool.

to answer your question ^^ yes i do believe that running rich is problem enough, but like i said i thought it was due to my o2's and i wasn't aware that the car was running rich until i went to change the plugs.
 
you can get a blow thru and you will have no probs w/ venting the BOV it puts the MAF after the BOV. thats what im going to do and all im going to run is an safc and pocketlogger.... hopefully works out good.

You can change the RFL BOV to a recirculated type very easily. It is the standard Turbo XS BOV, but w/ a horn intsead of an extention to attach the recirc tube to. I think you can just buy that metal sleeve from them and replace the horn shaped one w/ it. That way you can switch between the two. One for show, one for go. :thumb:

you can't run blow through that way. you need either a gm maf/maft or vpc
 
If you go HKS get the recirculation kit... end of story.
 
no it dosent dsmturbos, don't lie; we all know your having problems you just dont want to admit it. LOL .... and i did try to take the horn part off once before... it's not possible, not with out breaking it anyway. but if i hadn't turned my gsx into scrap metal that resembled a crushed coke can i would have gone with the gm maf; which is what i had planed on doing.

Awww, i am sorry i don't listen to you GOD OF EVERYTHING..... yes my car runs fine, soon to run fine on a tial with the psi fmic kit, thaks for the concern for me buddy :)
