What manifold?

Depends on if you're going to use an external wastegate or not. If not, a 2g manifold will do just fine as long as it's ported. I, myself, am going to get a 40mm tial wastegate off the o2 housing so I can do the 2g manifold porting myself and save some cash. Just some food for thought. The EVO manifold and 2g manifold will be nearly identical after porting so save the money and get a 2g.

The 2g or evo mani will support all the power you will ever want. There are other more costly choices. The dnp header for example is a very nice tubular header. do you need it? nope. Is it a nice high flow header? sure. That's what I'll be using with my FP3032.

The FP3065 to the best of my knowledge has provisions for an external gate designed into the turbine housing.

Even with all the talk of cracking that the tubular SS manifolds are known to get?

I trust the builder, if anyone can be trusted to make a quality manifold its the person that made that one. ;)

I believe most of the cracking problems with tubular manifolds come from the weight of the turbo, not the heating/cooling cycles. Just build a simple bracket to support the turbo. I'd like to hear from more people about that maniflods performance and spooling improvements.

Hi jdm,

Did you tap for your EGT probe on your DNP...or weld a bung on.

If you tapped, how's it holding up?

I'm about to tap mine, and I've read a couple of others that have tapped. Wondering if any body has any longterm results.

Appreciate it!

Phil

My friend is running the finished manifold on his car now for a few months. He drives 50 miles one way everyday in his car and it has held up really damn good. It's on a nissan fwd car.

actually i have not done either yet. as soon as it came in i sent it out to jet hot for coating. i spoke to don at dnp about it, and he said you can just drill it and tap the hole for threads.

I wouldnt ruin that automotive art with an EGT tap. Besides they are worthless anyway.

Yeah I think you would be better off spendingthat money on a wideband or something else like a fuel pressure guage.

Funny you said that, I was considering not even bothering with the egt with this header. Im at the point where i *feel* comfortable tuning without the egt.

Put your EGT in yoru downpipe. I never put it in the manifold. Whats the point of checking the guage to see at wot your at the very end of the gauge then if it goes higher your out of numbers to look at.

I put my EGT in my downpipe and just take off 150-200 deg. Basically I don't, and never have, really cared what the EGT says as far as the number is concerned. I just know it can't go higher than a particular point. When I start changing settings if it goes higher then that point then you know you ahve a problem.

Putting it in the manifodl so you get an "accurate" reading to me is kinda dumb. Just put it in the downpipe and keep your eye on it. If it goes somewhere it's not supposed to like past whatever point you deem is safe with your tuning then you know you have a problem.

im going to go with Rdrkt on this one(imagine that) wideband+logger=tuning ownage. ill replace the egt gauge with an oil pressure gauge.
