A customer of mine brought one of those in to have the pipe ceramic coated to keep it from rusting (the pipe is just mild steel) but other then that the whole setup looked pretty cool. I have been considering one of these for a while.

It shouldn't leak hardly at all because where the plate rests there are tabs on each opposite side for it to sit on and create a seal. It's not like a throttle body which is completly smooth with a close fitting valve. It's hard to tell in those pictures but they look pretty cool in person.

If you know of that guy named cheezfrog with that civic with like 500hp
he has one of these with a stock exhaust and his shit rides out hard.
I think it's the perfect sleeper tool and by far allows optimum turbo performance when needed.

Damn I was thinking about just running a cut out I can close and open when I need it for a day, but I never though of it that way. Damn man I'm going to try to make something like that. Any idea what to use to open the TB with?

what do you mean by tb? are you talking about the throttle body or what?

But that cut-out is the way to go i think for all turbo setups on 4-bangers
even if you have a full exhaust system.

But wouldn't a full exhaust(straight pipe all the way to the back) give the exact same gains? Sorry, I'm not to up-to-date on this.

Thats a bit pricey for an E-cutout. I have a manual cutout with a pull-type latch in the passanger compartment. Installed before the cat and works just the same. 39 bucks from JCWhitney. If you really must have an electric cut out, try www.quicktimeperformance.com. If you look it up under the wrx cutouts, they are about 169 if i remember correctly. And yes, I think a straight thru and a cutout will give u the same gains, just one sounds different then the other.

I think there both the same price but i don't know if the one you posted comes with the y-pipe, i thinks it's just the valve, im not sure. Hey whatever works for you. I'm just trying to show people how to get more proven power for cheap.

the only way your going to see 40 hp from that is if you have bottle necked exhuast on a huge turbo, on a normal 3" exhuast car max your going to see is 15hp i bet

its a cut out,it opens up your exhaust right before the cat so it has no restriction(very freakin' loud) awesome for the dragstrip,but you know the ricers are gonna have it open when they're drivin' on the street
