i still am trying to find out if my car is a 6 bolt or a 7 bolt. it was made in oct. 92 for the 93 year. i have been told it is a 7 bolt, but not sure. i was also wandering what i would need to do to it if it is a 7 bolt to put a 6 bolt motor in it. i have heard they are more reliable. my engine blew and i am trying to get as many options as possible. i only have about 500, and i don't wanna rebuild but i will if i have to.

ok then what would i need to put a 6 bolt in. i don't assume it would bolt right in.

I also put a 6 bolt in my 93, if you're going to do it get a 90 6 bolt w/ the air oil cooler instead of the liquid, so many people have problems w/ the liquid coolers backing the filters off, thats what killed my 7 bolt. Also if you do a 6 bolt make sure you use all the accessory pieces off the 6 bolt motor. For instance 7 bolt head studs are a lot longer and skinnier, and the 7 bolt TDC mark on the crank pulley is about 90 degrees off compared to the 6 bolt one. SO if you do it either use all the 6 bolt accessories or pay close attention when you put the timing belt back on and make your own mark rather then using the one on the 7 bolt TDC marker.

would i be able to put a 6 bolt block on my head or would i need to change the head too.

Just to make sure you have a 7 bolt look under the car at the drivers side tire. The oil pan there (under the crank pully) juts out on a 6 bolt and in on a 7 bolt. This takes 1 min and may save you alot of hassle.
