t3/t4 62-1 thoughts?

Then what do you suggest. It's a track car only. 2.0l 10:1 compression and and lots of spray with a dp fogger kit. hks 272's, heavey port work, and looking to go low 10's or faster

FP 3065 or an L3R

if you don't want to go ball bearing a 60-1 would do just fine for what you want.

if you're gonna spray it and its 10:1 the stage 5 and .82 a/r would probably work,i'm no turbo expert or anything,i myself would probably choose the stage 3 turbine wheel though.

and theres plenty of people that have run 10 seconds on the 60-1,hell theres a handful who run tens on 50 trims.
 
I dont want a 10.9 or anything like that. I want a 10.2 or better. I just cant see a 60-1 doing that
 
Don't take this the wrong way, but don't you need to run an 11 first?
 
Iam sorry ben but iam going to take it the wrong way. I didnt ask what you thought my abilties were. I asked what your impression were of that turbo, and what else you would suggest for a turbo. My car would have done a 11's but burned some valves. for #### sakes it ran 12.2 at 107 shuting it down 3/4 of the way down the track. done on crap tires, stock suspension. But dont worry, i wont be looking in your direction come buy time;)
 
I think if you are going with a compressor wheel that large the turbine wheel and housing are going to be a restriction. If you want to be low 10 sec serious you need to go T4 plain and simple. I am in the same boat.

Rdrtk: I think you might be rightr about that. That is what I was thinking, but was informed taht the 62-1 with the stage 5 and .82 ar might be ok. Also It would bring down the bugget a little. Which is nice. Iam going to have to look into this a bit futher.
 
Biggest mistake you can make right now is to build a car around a particular turbo.

Build the turbo around the car/driver.

I cant tell you right now that if you are going to get pissed off every time someone says that running low 10s is VERY hard you are going to be pissed off a lot. It’s a lot harder than most people think. Take a look at DSMtimes.org sometime. There are a lot of smart people on that list that haven’t hit 10.2 and they have been in the game for quite awhile. Without fail they will tell you its a lot harder than you think it is.

How many 10 sec cars do you think Ben has been responsible in setting up? How about Grocmax? I am also a clean pass away from a 10. How much more experience do you need giving you advice before you open your ears?

I'll do my thing and in the end we will see. Who know's. Maybe little old me, with my 0 years experince with no 11 second pass might just surprise you and pull it off. Or maybe I'll fail trying. either way Iam gonna try, and I dont need ppl telling me I need to hit a certian time first before they will take me seriously.
 
havent heard much praise about the 62-1..not to many people running it...if you are stuck with a t3 exhaust flange and want to go big then you can get a precision sc61 or sc63....or now full-race is making some big t3 turbos that look really nice

if not ide just step it up to a t4 if its a full drag car..especially if you are gonna run nitrous
 
Thanks very much for the advise. I dont know much about these turbo's. So if anyone has any info on them. Or personal experiance, that would be great.

I grabed some specs about the turbos. Maybe it will help. Does anyone have or know where you can get a map for the sc 61 or 63
