sup guyz....i decided to go the cheap way out...for now and make my own MBC....but i didn't want to make any regular MBC that has to be adjusted from the outside.... what do i need to make a MBC wit a cockpit controller? like those hallman MBC http://www.hallmanboostcontroller.com/applic.html
but i also wanna have two boost settings....like the dual stage boost controller from turbo xs.... leave your 2 cents and lemme know......it's gonna cost too much for a electronic at this point....i sitll need other #@%#@%#@%#@% to do....espceially maintenece of my car.....

There are several sites built for how to make your own mbc.

http://www.chaoticarts.com/~unixjedi/quest/boost_controller.shtml
http://www.geocities.com/chmwatson/FAQs/mbc.html
http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/mbc/mbc.html

There are more, even one with what this guy calls a CAP cheap ass profec. I have been toying with an idea though. I havent tested it and make no claims about it actually working but it looks like it should. I dont have a car at the moment so I would appreciate it if someone could try it for me and tell me how it works.

I know the words are hard to read. when I compressed it to make it easier to download for us dialup folks it lost a little legibility.

You should figure out how to wire it so that if it breaks and power stops going to it that it leaves the low boost open and not just the high boost.

And the vacuum switching valve *may* be used like a t-connector. I got the idea of using a VSV from another website so I'm not sure as I've never seen one in person. This person had a slightly diferent "multi-boost" setup where they used a VSV and the stock bcs but I dont remember how it worked. If you build your own mbc's a dual stage should cost you less than $50.

Bloody hell! The wealth of information available on this site is awesome. Over here in the UK, the tuning scene in no-where near as big as the U.S, and even such things as a MBC is only recently becoming known. The conventional methods of increasing boost like a bleed valve (dangerous on some cars, especially mine because of the way the fuel system works) and shortening the actuator arm are the cheap ways. Then the next step used to be full electronic boost controllers..=Loads of money!

On my car i've been getting huge boost spikes and having read about MBC's, this should be virtually eliminated, and decrease spool up time.
The Dawes device is something many Subaru owners use, and in my circle of tuning, a guy has brought this thing out:http://www.grantbaker.co.uk/ I was searching this forum last night and found at least 4 or 5 links explaining how to make my own for under $5!

I feel ripped off, as i've just sent off for one of these valves, cost £25! I know this doesn't help much for an in-car adjustable version, just thought i'd mention it...
