I have a stock 1g head right now, with web cam street grinds and 3g lifters. I want to sell the web's and get a set of hks 272/272's. I know a lot of people retarding their exhaust cam and some that don't. I know the theoretical advantages, but does anyone that has done this have any comment on it? Also, what can I rev to with stock springs and retainers? I again, know some revving out to 8500 bone stock head with just cams. I don't want to push the car, too much money into it for that. -Reliable Power-

www.smartboxllc.com/mirage is my current setup that should be running here in a few short weeks. What kind of power with the 272's should I expect at different boost levels? Anyone running a comparable setup have dyno sheets or time slips?

Thanks

-Colin

You have quite a nice car there. It should be a rocket once its tuned well. The HKSs should be able to rev to 8500 pretty safely even with stock springs, provided the installed height is to spec. Your power band should be pretty broad with that turbo and manifold. I would estimate 4500-8000 would be your best power range with the ability to make low to mid 500 whp if you are using the bolt-on PTE turbine housing. The bolt-on housing would be your first bottleneck to realizing your full compressor wheel capability. Since your car is so light you realy will not need an overabundance of power to pull some good times, provided you can ever get it to hook up.

Bolt on? who said anything about using bolt on stuff?? ;)

The manifold is a custom job, t4 flange, T-61 turbo, and a custom downpipe and o2 housing, biggest I can stuff on it. Thanks for the input :)
