Any one running a AGP RS-49 ?

No, I dont have the RS49. I have the RS65. I was stating my oppinion, with some underlying humor involved. His question is actually loaded. The RS49 is a 50trim Garrett turbo, with a T31 turbine wheel(stage 3 in turdblownetics terminology, even though they arent the same thing), in a custom turbine housing. So, based on this, the performance will be excellant. I was basing my my reply more on the build quality of the turbo.
 
I was looking at the RS49 because it flows as much as a FP green, but uses a custom cast turbine housing rather than that damned 7cm2 crap. Not to mention its WAY cheaper than a green. Im also interested in a RS60, but Im worried that spool will be a bit too slow.

The one thing that puzzled me a little was this:

RS49

RS60
All that power and the ability to reach 30psi by 4000rpm, this hybrid is a serious contender.

This turbo flows an extra 11lbs over its little brother, but seemingly spools FASTER! They claim it built that extra 10psi in 200 extra RPM? How is this possible? And if this is true, why in the HELL would you buy a RS49 when you could get the RS60 for the same price?

Green have propelled cars to 123 mph on pump gas without cams or intake. Curt brown also put 10 second passes on the board using a FP green. Greens have also made over 400 whp on quite a few cars. Just because every person to drive a dsm does not post there life story on the Internet does no mean this type of performance is not common.

The new PTE stuff is great, FP even offers a 50 trim using the PTE housing. But lets not take anything away from hybrids using 7cm mitsu housing, specifically reds and greens.
 
Im well aware of the track record of the green turbo, so please dont lecture me about peoples "life stories". Just because something is good or is just "satisfactory" doesnt mean it couldnt be better. Which is one of the things that comes with the new FP30 turbos, custom cast housings to be rid of those 7cm2 housings...

The Green is a great turbo, but my argument was that for a good chunk less money, I could get an RS49 or RS60 which would perform as good as or better than a green.

I put a lot of thought into whether to go Green or RS series from AGP, and I am fairly sure than in the end, it will be AGP all the way.

Now deciding between the RS49 and 60 will be yet another tough call for me. But the FP Green has taken itself out of the running.
 
I went threw the same situation on picking between Green or RS-49 and I went with the price even about 2 months ago when I got the turbo AGP was having a sale on it I got :
RS-49
internal wastegate
90 degree elbow welded on
oil line kit
in line oil filter
and oil return line
total price was
$1045

Which is about $300 or more less then the green

and I went threw thinking that in my opinion and others that the RS-49
was probably the way to go and I was asking questions like is this turbo probably going to flow a bit more air due to the fact that it has a bigger compressor housing TO4E :thumb: but I guess I will see once I get everthing bolted on and broke in and sitten on the dyno! Thanks for all your help guy's !
