I'm buying the t3/t4 set up from dsmotorsports, feul pump, clutch and egt gauge for now( that's all I can afford now) But anyway I will be getting injectors, fmic, and an afc as soon as possible but my question is can I just run low boost for now say 16psi until i get the rest of the mods or at least until I get afc. Or should I just hold everything until I get the other stuff. I would like to at least put the turbo on but don't want to break anything. As long as it doesn't creep shouldn't i be fine for the time being. I have a boost gauge so i can watch for creep. Oh by the way I'm running 16psi now anyway it just doesn't hold to redline and the new turbo will but will that hurt the car with out the mods i mentioned. Running the same boost I should see some improvements though right? Do to the more efficent turbo ( at 16psi) and it holding to redline?

You should be able to run the same 16 psi. With the more efficient turbo, you should be able to hold boost till redline; but you should watch out for the air/fuel ratio. Without the upgraded fuel system, you may be running lean when aproaching higher rpm's.

I agree! That's basically what I'm doing right at the present with my FP Big28. Just keep an eye on your boost gauge. I would definately recommend an egt gauge also. I think that's what is really helping me maintain, and stay at a safe level, with peace of mind. Good luck!

Exactly! A boost gauge should be your first mod, followed by the EGT gauge. First have the necessay equipment to keep an eye on your engine, then start modifying it. In the end you will see it was a wise investement.

question, wouldn't running 16 psi on the t3t4 (depending what size wheels) be ALOT dfiferent than on that t25? the IC won't handle it and so won't the fuel..u'd probably have to turn the boost down all the way wouldn't u? i don't know, i'm just wondering too...

I would think the feul would be more of a problem than the intercooler because that turbo is way more efficent than a t-25 at 16psi. The intercooler would evetully hold you back but the feul will hold you back first IMO. I do have a boost gauge but now I'm considering the big t-28 becuse with that I can afford the injectors and AFC now. Dunno but tomarrow is the big day I got my money today so i have to make up my mind soon. What do you guys think. Larry said he spun 1st &2nd and still ran 13.7 so I figure if I work on my traction I could run in the 12's When my set up is complete( Still need fmic & some other things I'll probably think of later). What do you guys think.

You will not be able to run 16psi on that turbo with no AFC,fuel injectors, or FMIC. I would say 9psi.

Yeah... that's kinda what happened to me when I installed my Big28. I left my boost controller set where I had it with the stock T-25, which was 18 psi, as soon as I did my first run with my Big28 I almost #@%#@%#@%#@% when I saw 23 psi. So... needless to say I had to crank her on back down a few notches.
